The AIHP Robert P. Fischelis Award honors the late Robert P. Fischelis (1891-1981), a gifted leader of the pharmacy profession and generous benefactor of AIHP.

The Fischelis Award is awarded to a person or organization whose work and actions have made significant and commendable contributions to the mission or organizational well-being of AIHP, and thereby the field of the history of pharmacy and pharmaceuticals.

Nominations

Nominations for the Fischelis Award must include at least one letter of nomination outlining the nominee’s contributions to the field of pharmacy history and their impact on the AIHP. To be considered for the Fischelis Award, nominations must also include the nominee’s curriculum vitae (or similar biographical information) and one representative publication. To be considered, please email nominations to aihp@aihp.org by June 1, 2026.

Nominations for the award are evaluated on the basis of

  • Impact on AIHP: Tangible benefits to AIHP’s operations, visibility, or sustainability.
  • Advocacy and Outreach: Promotion of AIHP’s mission to broader audiences.
  • Leadership and Service: Volunteerism, governance, or strategic support.
  • Innovation: Creative approaches to advancing AIHP’s goals.
  • Legacy: Long-term influence on AIHP’s development or reputation.

The AIHP Robert P. Fischelis Award may be presented furing the AIHP Annual Members Meeting or such other event or location as AIHP may determine.
